Description
My Death Guard Chaos Lord of Nurgle in Terminator Armour -The Shriven.
I for one have never like the 'fattiness' of Plague Marines, and I avoided Nurgle altogether for many years because of that in regards to my Warhammer Experience; however I discovered the images of Mortarion's skeletal form and I had the idea of skinny Plague Marines. I envisioned a branch of the Death Guard who had contracted a lesser known aspect of Nurgle's diseases, one that wasted thier bodies away rather than bloating them with pestilence.
Their captian embraced Nurgle's influence through famine and took on the self-proclaimed title of 'The Shriven'; and thus imposes a 'pennance' of sorts upon others by use of Nurgle's diseases. He and his entire company are essentally emaciated near-skeletons in this aspect, and this extends even upon the daemons they summon - Plaguebearers appearing as wasted, ghoulish things that hunger for the flesh of mortals.
His design was inspired partially by the model Typhus, the 'ribs' of sorts sprouting from his back mimicking the bony 'pipes' that erupt from Typhon's.
